Safe Haven

All volunteers, including volunteers under the age of 18 who are working with youth soccer players or youth volunteers (such as referees) must take the Safe Haven Course. Examples of volunteers who must take Safe Haven include Coaches and Assistant Coaches, parents that assist at practices, Referees and Region Officials. Region 14 will be offering a number of Safe Haven classes. Please check out Calendar for a list of upcoming classes. If no Safe Haven classes are available, you may take it online.

A volunteer form is required

• If you have not yet submitted a volunteer application for 2008, you may begin the process by completing an application using AYSO's online service at www.eAYSO.org. Click on the First Time button and follow the instructions in the subsequent pages to become an AYSO Volunteer. The system will also provide you the ability to create a profile consisting of your email and password. When you've completed the online Volunteer application, print a copy, sign it and contact your CVPA who can then provide your AYSO ID number.

• If you have submitted a volunteer form for 2008, you'll need to find out your AYSO ID number. To do that either contact Region 14's Child & Volunteer Protection Advocate (CVPA) or send an email to joanbuffandeau@ayso.org.

Once you have your volunteer form completed and an AYSO ID number please pick a time when you can spend a minimum of one hour on the computer, to complete this course. Upon completion a record of your session will be forwarded to AYSO and you will be able to print out a certificate. Please keep this certificate.Safe Haven is a one time requirement.
